“Following misrepresentations, the complainants gave the five suspects gold worth US$36 400 for it to be processed before they could hand the processed gold back to the owners who in turn could sell it to Fidelity Printers,” he said. “Instead of fulfiling the trust invested in them by the complainants, the suspects unlawfully and intentionally sold the gold and converted the cash to their own use or personal gain, thereby permanently depriving the complainants of their gold.” Police are appealing to anyone with information leading to the arrest of Makombe to contact Detective Asst Insp Nyoni of CID Serious Fraud on 0772 604 018 or any Police Station.
