Teenagers fondle mentally-ill woman

Chief Chiwara also beat up the helpless woman, who was visiting a relative in the same village.

Gutu resident magistrate, Mr Nyasha Vitorini, last Friday convicted the trio on their own plea when they appeared before him facing indecent assault and assault charges.

The charges arose on September 11 last year in Murambiwa Village under Chief Chiwara when the trio met the complainant.
The three boys approached the woman and offered to assist her to locate her relative after she failed to find her at home.
They led her to a bushy area fully aware that she was mentally unstable.

They tripped her to the ground with two of them holding her hands, while one stripped her and took turns to abuse her.
She escaped after biting one of the boys on the fingers, forcing him to release her hands.

A report was made to police at Bhasera after  the complainant went back home and alerted her relatives.
Ms Agatha Gabriel appeared for the State.
