A RUSAPE man allegedly slashed, and burned his workmate with a lit log and burning melting plastic till he passed out.
Elliot Jichichi (33) appeared before regional magistrate Mr Livingstone Chipadza facing attempted murder charges and was remanded to today (Friday) for sentencing. He is charged with contravened Section 189 of Criminal Law (Codification and Reform Act, Chapter 9.23) after attempting to kill Didymus Mwedziwendira, accusing him of having an affair with his wife, Brenda Nguruve.
Jichichi, of Lone Kop Farm and not represented, denied the charges, but admitted to have assaulted Mwedziwendira.
Giving a hair-raising testimony in court, Mwedziwendira said Jichichi was accusing him of having an affair with his wife and he was severely assaulted all over the body by a hand grass-cutting blade and tobacco clippers, besides being burnt on his manhood with a burning log and burning plastic.
Mr Chipadza postponed the matter today (Friday) for judgment.
Mr James Wirima prosecuted.
