A ROUTINE police arrest at a Bindura mine exploded into a chilling skull horror after detectives uncovered human remains at a suspect’s home.
Among the items found were “one skull with two cuts on the back wrapped in a yellow cloth, another skull wrapped in a red cloth, a single bone wrapped in a red cloth, two buckets containing bones wrapped in green, yellow, black and blue cloths and three plastic containers containing soil mixed with suspected human bones and hair.”
National Police Spokesperson Commissioner Paul Nyathi confirmed the arrest of Alfred Chinjiva (28) after a follow-up search exposed skulls, bones and soil mixed with suspected human hair.
“The ZRP confirms the arrest of Alfred Chinjiva (28) for possession of human skulls and remains,” said Commissioner Nyathi.
“The suspect was initially apprehended on 02/02/26 for possession of articles of criminal use after being found with a dummy pistol at a mine in Bindura,” he said.
Police then moved in on the suspect’s Chipandura Park residence, where a gruesome haul was recovered.
“Police searched his residence in Chipandura Park and recovered human remains,” said Commissioner Nyathi.
Commissioner Nyathi said investigations are ongoing.
“More details will be released as investigations progress,” he said.
