Man charged with son-in-law’s murder

Tom Letala (36) appeared before Magistrate Kudakwashe Jarabini who remanded him on US$100 bail.

Letala was told to reside at the given address as well as reporting twice a week at Marlborough Police Station as part of bail conditions.
It is the State’s case that on December 25 2011, Letala allegedly stabbed Edson Chimbadzo with a kitchen knife three times in the chest, resulting in his death.

He assaulted Chimbadzo for striking his daughter, Rosemary Letala, with an empty beer bottle on the forehead, thereby inflicting some injuries.
The knife used by Letala to stab Chimbadzo was recovered and it is treated as an exhibit.
Ms Molyn Mutamangira appeared for the State.
