A 35-YEAR-OLD man lied that he was attending an all-night prayer meeting to create a platform to rape his neighbour’s teenage daughter in Seke.
Luckmore Mugabe has since been arrested.
Luckmore pleaded with the Grade 7 pupil to come and sleep at his house in February.
He claimed he was going to attend a church service overnight.
The 13-year-old girl agreed.
However, Luckmore did not spend the entire night at the prayer as he had claimed.
He reurned from the prayer meeting at around 8pm and raped the girl at knife point without protection.
He threatened the girl.
In May, the girl’s mother sent her to go and hand over an electric inverter to Luckmore.
When the girl entered his room, Luckmore closed the door and locked it from inside.
He raped her once again without protection.
The matter came to light this week after the girl’s mother was tipped off by an unknown church member that her daughter was no longer a virgin.
She then interviewed her daughter who then revealed the abuse.
Harare provincial police spokesperson Inspector Luckmore Chakanza confirmed the case.
“Police are investigating a rape case involving a juvenile raped and sexually abused since February.”
