A DISPUTE between two friends over a deal to import clothes from Turkey has spilled into court after one of them failed to deliver the clothes since May.

The court heard that Blessed Madziva was entrusted by her friend Florene Madenga to buy clothes for her from Turkey.

On May 10, at  55 Fife Avenue in Harare, the two met and entered into a verbal agreement in which Madziva was entrusted with US$15 450 for the purpose of buying clothes from Turkey.

The clothes were to be delivered within three weeks.

It is alleged Madziva converted the money to her own use and she did not deliver the clothes as promised after three weeks.

She started to give numerous excuses, fake promises, ignoring the complainant calls and became evasive.

Madenga made several demands for Madziva to return the money but to no avail.

This prompted her to file a police report. Madziva appeared before magistrate Sharon Rakafa who released her on free bail as she was coming from home.

Takudzwa Mutyavaviri appeared for the State.
