Man Jailed 10 years for cutting TelOne cables

A 27-YEAR-OLD man was jailed by the Harare Magistrates’ Court for cutting TelOne cables.
Courage Zimuto allegedly committed vandalism at a house in Meyrick Park, Harare, targeting TelOne property, including Drop wires, Insulators (2) two pieces of 20 pair copper cables
While committing the offence, Zimuto was caught in the act by a passerby, who promptly apprehended him and handed him over to the authorities. The damaged TelOne cables were valued at US$400.
In a statement on X, the National Prosecuting Authority of Zimbabwe (NPAZ) said On 7 September Courage Zimuto proceeded to a house in Meyrick Park, Harare, where he cut TelOne drop wires, two white insulators and two pieces of twenty-pair copper cables.
“While committing the offence, Zimuto was spotted by a passer-by who apprehended and took him to the Police. The cables were valued at US$400”,
“He was convicted and sentenced to 10 years imprisonment, ” said the NPAZ
