Villagers of Nyagupe, in Mudzi were shell-shocked when a 24-year-old man fatally struck his father with a stone before cutting off his manhood on Monday.
Takudzwa Bonga was dragged to Mutoko magistrates courts where he was not asked to plead to the charge and he was remanded in custody to August 14.
The state led by Chipo Munemero alleged that on July 29, around 3am, the accused killed his father Killion Bonga by striking him with a stone on the head several times.
After the murder, he inserted his father’s walking stick in his anus and removed his private parts. After committing the gruesome murder, the suspect went next door and invited the neighbour to witness the case.
Meanwhile, a 23 year old mother who strangled her son soon after birth and threw away the corpse at a dump site has pleaded guilty to the offence.
Nancy Chitsiga who initially appeared in court on Tuesday, was back in court in Harare for bail application but ended up pleading to the charge. Prosecutor Thomas Chanakira applied to have the matter remanded to August 2, to allow the State sufficient time to obtain the post mortem results. — (Source: Bulawayo24/H Metro)
