A HARARE man has lost his bid for a protection order against his former friend.

Chenjerai Chatyora told the court his former friend, Tinashe Chimbiro, has been threatening him because of money.

“We used to be really close and l bought him alcohol almost every day but now he is demanding money from me. The other day he threatened to assault me, with the help of his new friends, because he wants money.

“l now fear for my life,” Chatyora said.

Chimbiro denied the accusations saying Chatyora borrowed him money and never paid back.

“It’s actually the other way round Your Worship, l lent him money a few weeks back but he is refusing to pay me back. He even pleaded with me not to report him to the cops saying he will pay me at the end of the month.”

Magistrate Tamara Chibindi dismissed the application due to lack of evidence.
