Man murdered during beer drinking competition

A BEER drinking competition turned nasty after a Marange man allegedly murdered his friend over a minor misunderstanding on whose beer tasted better. Manicaland provincial police spokesperson, Inspector Tavhiringwa Kakohwa, confirmed the death of Casper Masasi of Masasi Village under Chief Marange. He also confirmed the arrest of Kudzai Zhovha of the same village in connection with Masasi’s murder.

Insp Kakohwa said Zhovha and Masasi were at Masasi Business Centre drinking beer when a misunderstanding arose on whose beer tasted better.

“Zhovha was drinking Chibuku Scud, while Masasi was drinking Chibuku Super. The misunderstanding arose when each party claimed that their own beer was better than the other. Zhovha got angry, stood up and grabbed Masasi by the neck resulting in the latter falling headlong.”
