Man nabbed for intimidating mother

A 32-YEAR-OLD man from Bulawayo has been nabbed for intimidating his mother with a knife after she asked him to lower the volume of the radio.

Nicholas Mandla pleaded guilty to the charge of intimidation before Bulawayo magistrate Nomagugu Maphosa. He was remanded in custody to tomorrow for sentencing.

When asked by the magistrate why he committed the offence, he stated that he was drunk and was not aware of his actions.

“I was very drunk, I do not know what l was doing.I hope the court will pardon me,” he said.

The court heard that on 10 November 2024, Nicholas was playing music in the sitting room when his mother, Balekeni Mandla entered the house.

She asked him to lower the volume and this angered him, and a misunderstanding arose.

Nicholas proceeded to the kitchen, took a knife and threatened to kill his mother with it. She fled the scene.

The matter was reported to the police leading to the arrest of the culprit and the recovery of the knife.
