A 28-YEAR-OLD man from Victoria Falls in Matabeleland North province has been nabbed for allegedly raping a 13-year-old minor at knife point.
The man who cannot be named for ethical reasons appeared before a Victoria Falls magistrate facing a charge of rape. He pleaded not guilty to the charge and was remanded in custody to 28 January 2025.
Allegations against the culprit are that sometime in December 2024, the victim was alone in her bedroom at her home in Chinotimba when the accused entered the room.
He threatened her with a knife, forcefully undressed the victim and raped her. The matter came to light on 12 January 2025 when the victim revealed the incident to her aunt.
The matter was reported to the police and investigations were carried out leading to the arrest of the culprit.
