MUSONA WANTS TO PUNISH BOSSO AGAIN

IT’S a mid-week football party for Simba Bhora host Highlanders at Wadzanai in Shamva tomorrow.

The miners were still homeless the last time they hosted Bosso at Baobab and won 3-0 last season.

This time, Kelvin Kaindu’s men are invading Shamva, a place where no PSL team has recorded a win.

Simba Bhora’s only loss at Wadzanai came at the hands of Chegutu Pirates, three seasons ago, when they were still battling for promotion into the ZIFA Northern Region Division One Soccer League.

Simba Bhora are sitting third on the league table and are two points above Bosso.

The Shamva side also have Walter Musona, who always appears to reserve his best for battles against Bosso.

Musona scored a brilliant freekick against Highlanders to force a 1-1 draw for Motor Action in his debut season in the top-flight league.

The goal ruined Highlanders’ championship chase and they eventually lost the title race to Dynamos.

Two years ago, he scored late for FC Platinum to down Bosso 3-2 at Barbourfields.

Last season, the 28-year-old was also on target when he scored the opener to hand Bosso their first loss of the season.

On Saturday, he scored the goal that salvaged a point when Simba Bhora forced a 1-1 draw against Green Fuel to take his tally to six goals.

“It is important to win this game because we want to open up a gap between us and Bosso in the title race.

“We are targeting to keep pace with FC Platinum and it will be hard to win the race when you have many teams in the same fight.

“Our fans should expect nothing but the best from every player that is going to be selected to play by coach Tonderai Ndiraya,” said Musona.

He added:

“Playing at Wadzanai is a motivation on its own because we know that teams are afraid of the hostile environment which our fans create throughout the game and we are all ready to maintain that record.

“As an individual, I’m targeting 15 goals this season, I’m going to try my best to improve my scoring rate.”
