A Harare woman has told the court that her brother- in-law attempted to rape her while she was bathing.

Emaculate Mazenge testified against her brother-in-law, Emmanuel Kadzenga, who was seeking a protection order against former, alleging that she assaulted him over electricity bills.

Kadzenga told the court that his sister-in-law assaulted him.

“She is in the habit of assaulting me over electricity bills.

“The court should grant her an order that does not allow her to report matters that happen at home to the police,” he said.

Emaculate disputed that Emmanuel’s true motive was to silence her after his attempted rape.

She claimed he entered the bathroom while she was bathing and tried to rape her.

“He entered the bathroom while l was bathing and tried to rape me.

“He claims that l am a prostitute yet I live with my husband and this is causing problems in my marriage.

“He insults me over my properties and I plead with the court to protect me against his bad behaviour.”

Presiding Magistrate Meenal Narotam dismissed Emmanuel’s application due to lack of evidence.
