A MAN from Pelandaba yesterday walked away with a Mercedes Benz in the Baker’s Inn Buy and Win Promotion draw held in Bulawayo.

Mr Lungisani Chongwe, was, however, not present during the draw to claim his prize. Other lucky customers also won deep freezers, gas stoves, plasma television sets and bread. Speaking at the draw, Baker’s Inn financial director Mr Mandla Nkosi said the competition has seen increased sales on bread.

“We have seen great attendance all the way and have recorded 22 percent growth in sales which is very good. As Baker’s Inn we believe in growth and we take the brand to where people are. We have been to every province and this is our 9th draw, while next week we are heading to Harare for our last draw.

“When we started the grand prize was a Honda Fit, which was followed by a VW Polo and this time we are giving away a Mercedes Benz, which shows how we have grown as a company,” he said.

Mr Nkosi said the company has spent close to $1 million on the competition.

“We have spent close to a million dollars in our draws and we have not retained losses. It is, however, an investment behind our growth. For every two loaves sold in Zimbabwe, one is from Baker’s Inn which is a measure of our growth,” he said.-@lvydvy1
