Mangwiro to battle for safety

HARARE City coach, Taurai Mangwiro, says he is bracing for a tough challenge against log leaders FC Platinum.

They meet in a Castle Lager Premiership match at the National Sports Stadium tomorrow.

Speaking to H-Metro, Mangwiro said:

“We are facing a team high in confidence after going for a long period without tasting defeat.

“And, in the process, they haven’t conceded any goals,” said Mangwiro.

“But, it has been a different story for us.

“It has been a very difficult season, as we have only managed four wins.

“Looking at our opponents on Saturday, you can only admire the good work their coach Norman Mapeza has done over the past few years.

“From being an unknown team, FC Platinum have now been the most consistent team in the past six years.”

In spite of the admiration, Mangwiro remains undeterred by FC Platinum’s fine run.

“It doesn’t make them invincible though, there is always a time when things can just change,

“If you look at the statistics, FC Platinum have become a very difficult team to beat, but I believe Saturday can be the day we breathe life into our own campaign by beating them to ease our woes.

“We don’t have easy games going forward and I believe we have to try and maximise home advantage. We have been struggling, but our last outing at home saw us ending a series of defeats,” he said.
