FC Platinum will next Tuesday unveil Norman Mapeza as head coach, The Saturday Herald can reveal.
Mapeza has been out of a job since coaching the Warriors in a failed bid for the 2012 Nations Cup finals.“I am sorry I can’t speak to you right now, I am busy with schools football. You are not the first person to ask me but the truth is I am not aware of the development,” said Mapeza.
Mapeza is believed to have signed a contract on Wednesday before Mutasa was forced to resign the following day.
FC Platinum, however, denied that they were hiring Mapeza.
“We are surprised reading it from the papers. We are still to sit as an executive and decide on the coach to take charge. We are looking at names in Zimbabwe and outside the country,” said club president George Mawere.
But sources maintained yesterday that it was a done deal and Mapeza will take over.
