A MARRIED man is demanding a DNA paternity test before he can pay maintenance for a three-month-old child he allegedly sired with a Bindura University of Science Education student.
Elisha Mutize has been dragged to court by Netsai Munyoro who is demanding US$150 per month for maintenance.
Mutize said: “I want the child to go for DNA paternity testing before I start paying the maintenance that she needs.
“I am married and it’s a child out of wedlock so I am asking for confirmation. Most of the time I am out of the country, I just want to be sure and I am doubting our long distance relationship.
“I heard my different peers saying they see her in different cars so I want to be sure I am maintaining my child.”
Magistrate Meenal Naratom ordered Mutize to pay US$80 for maintenance while they wait for the DNA test results.
