MARRIOT IS A VERY BIG LIAR

BERNARD Marriot, the man who many Dynamos fans accuse of reducing the club into a lightweight football club, has become so desperate that he is now resorting to LYING to try and justify the madness at the Glamour Boys.

One such LIE is the embarrassing attempt by Marriot to try and hoodwink the club’s fans that he sacked treasurer Musa Gwasira when the reality is that the businessman resigned from his post last week.

H-Metro exclusively revealed that Gwasira quit his post in a huff, moments after he took the decision, last Thursday.

This followed the club’s 1-1 draw against Yadah at Rufaro in a match the Glamour Boys needed a late goal to pick up a point.

However, Marriot, in trying to fool the Dynamos fans, released a letter on Monday which suggests that Gwasira was removed from office in a restructuring exercise on July 17.

That was exactly a week before Gwasira dropped his bombshell and announced he had left his post.

Marriot was trying to fool the club’s fans that his empire is not falling apart, with officials leaving their posts, but he was the one who was ringing the changes.

“This letter serves as official notice of your disengagement as the Treasurer of Dynamos FC,” reads the letter signed by Marriot and dated July 17.

“The reason for this disengagement is that the Board, which is the appointing authority, has decided to restructure the Executive Committee of the club.

“The disengagement is with immediate effect. May you, therefore, make arrangements for the handover and takeover procedure as well as (handing) over the club’s property that may be in your possession.”

But, there are some serious flaws in this letter:

• What Marriot didn’t say in that letter, which orders Gwasira to ensure there should be ‘handling’ and not ‘handing’ over of the club’s property, is that he is the Board himself.
• And, that no Board meeting was held to make any such changes at Dynamos because the so-called Board is dysfunctional and only exists in the mind of the club’s godfather.
• Marriot’s letter somehow still retains Gwasira’s name, among the club’s executive members, at the bottom of the letter, even as it advises him that he has been removed from the DeMbare leadership.
• If Gwasira was fired on July 17, why did he sign the club’s income/expenditure statement from the gate receipts at the Dynamos/Yadah league game at Rufaro last Thursday – EIGHT days after the so-called disengagement which, according to Marriot’s letter, was “with immediate effect?”
• The income/expenditure statement is signed by the club’s treasurer and the PSL chief cashier after all the reconciliations, from gate receipts, have been done and Gwasire signed on behalf of Dynamos.
• H-Metro has obtained the income/expenditure statement from that game and it shows that 3 866 fans paid their way into Rufaro to watch the match and Gwasira signed that Dynamos took home US$ 4982.
• Is Marriot sending a signal that things have collapsed at Dynamos to such an extent that an executive committee member, FIRED eight days earlier, can still be allowed to take charge of a sensitive portfolio like the club’s finances?

If that is the case then DeMbare is DOOMED.
