Mash East commemorates Defence Forces Day

Thousands filled Rudhaka Stadium in Marondera, Mashonaland East Province for the Defence Forces Day celebrations on Tuesday, a day the whole nation celebrated the outstanding duty of the uniformed forces in ensuring peace and tranquility in Zimbabwe.

By 7 am, the stadium was already filled with people who were being entertained by various artist groups.

The commemorations were officiated by the Minister of State for Provincial Affairs and Devolution for Mashonaland East Advocate Itayi Ndudzo.

Upon his arrival, Advocate Ndudzo inspected the guard of honor.

This was followed by members of the uniformed forces who performed the slow and quick marches.

Advocate Ndudzo then read the President’s Defence Forces Day commemorations speech which was followed by the singing of the national anthem, marking the official end of the celebrations.
