Mat South ready for teachers’ games

The educators of the nation will be leaving for the capital this morning for the annual event which assembles teachers from all over the country.

The selection process was a three-day event which began on Monday and ended yesterday at Eveline High School, Bulawayo.

Gwanda, Bulilima, Mangwe, Insiza, Matobo, Beitbridge and Umzingwane districts, which make up Matabeleland South province, came out in full force from their areas vying for selection.

The province will join other teams to compete in basketball, darts, chess, athletics, volleyball, soccer and netball.

The team manager and coordinator, Handsome Ncube, expressed confidence in his team.

“We have always done well and this year is no exception. Volleyball for both men and women has always been our strongest point and this year is even better because our team is better than the previous years,” Ncube said.
