MATABELELAND South residents have turned out in numbers to observe this year’s African Anti-Corruption Day commemorations.

The event is being held in Gwanda in line with the devolution agenda.

It is running under the theme “Promoting Human Dignity in the Fight Against Corruption”.

The event began with a march around the CBD. The ZPCS band, drum majorettes, ZRP, ZACC officials, heads of Government departments, civil servants, political leaders, the religious fraternity, residents, and other stakeholders participated in the march.

The Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission (ZACC) is leading the commemoration.

The event aims to raise awareness about the African Union Convention on Preventing and Combating Corruption (AUCPCC), which Zimbabwe has ratified, and to mobilise citizens to actively participate in the fight against corruption.
