On 16 July 2025, on our online platforms, we published a story headlined, “Highlanders fans stage mini-protest, demand new executive, board.”
The story credited unnamed sources who claimed that one of the people who were among the protesters, carrying a banner written “New executive, new board members, no to misuse of Bosso funds. Sikhathele ngamasela” was related to Highlanders Football Club member Nodumo Nyathi.
The story implied that Nyathi was part of the protest.
Although our story quoted Nyathi stating that he was not related to the said female protester and was not part of the protest in any way, we would like to apologise unreservedly to Nyathi for the inconvenience caused by the article that dragged his name into the protest by a section of Highlanders Football Club fans calling themselves Bosso Ultras.
