MDC-T an embarrassment to Zimbabwe

Muchadura Dube
THE events unfolding in the turbulent MDC-T camp led by the controversy-ridden Mr Morgan Tsvangirai point to the total demise of this imperialistic creation. Having navigated on the wave of mindless protest which the politically moronic Zimbabwe Congress of Trade Unions engineered, the MDC-T has now run out of ideas for the once gullible populace can now see through its monumental deceit. The MDC-T had the filthy wealth of the former commercial farmers at its disposal, if only the excited bunch of this treacherous party’s leadership would have realised that these white fellows accumulated the wealth out of the sweat of Africans whom they virtually enslaved and exploited for almost a lifetime.

The West has realised that their investment was being directed at a bottomless pit which oozed uncontrollably enriching a few elite, with even Mr Tsvangirai’s children enjoying themselves at exclusive schools meant for millionaires in the Western capitals. His continuous humiliation at the hands of the veteran politician President Mugabe and his party Zanu-PF ruffled the feathers of these diabolic forces whose only concern about Zimbabwe is the plunder of its resources.

If the recent events at the MDC-T congress are anything to go by, then the MDC-T is indeed headed for the gutters, its future represented by the youthful and energetic Mr Nelson Chamisa, its former organising secretary, and Mr Tapiwa Mashakada, its then acting secretary-general, were shown the exit door by a stage-managed crowd whose hatred for intellectuals continues to grow by the day.

In a civilised Zimbabwe, it is strange to have a political party which has disdain for academics in a country which is the most literate nation on the continent and boasts manpower almost everywhere globally.

Zimbabwe, though geographically small, contributes its fair share of manpower globally in a manner which proves that the nation has mastered the art of education in a way hitherto unseen on the continent. With such a remarkable track record, it defies logic for a party which aspires to be at least a competent opposition to then preoccupy itself with purging intellectuals as if its life depends on it.

If ever they could cast their eyes next door, where the ruling party Zanu-PF has a formidable combination of academics and other social groups representative of the country, all coexisting in harmony. That is the political skill which separates those practising kindergarten politics and practical politics which has a positive impact on the livelihood of the populace.

With that background of disorientation as narrated above, the MDC-T desperate to lure and seduce its disenchanted funders and founders, the British and their acolytes who have grown weary of its anti-people posture and its total lack of political acumen which has seen it losing consecutive elections since its formation in 1999, have taken a begging bowl to Europe.

Interestingly, the MDC-T have tasked a man who is a suspected fraudster, its secretary-general, Mr Douglas Mwonzora, to lead the delegation to Europe to source for funding.

Isn’t this a case of having hyenas to look after goats? There is an old adage in our vernacular which sums up this awkward scenario: ‘‘kupinza gonzo mudura renzungu’’.
Certainly, the politically irrelevant Mr Tsvangirai will rue the decision he took to help Mr Mwonzora to ascend to the secretary-general post, for the fellow is pandemonium reincarnated. He is simply clueless politically. One would recall Mr Mwonzora’s days as the Member of Parliament in Nyanga North, the populace there still has an axe to grind with him after he fooled the vulnerable villagers to go on a rampage attacking their kinsmen, leading them to being arraigned in the courts countless times. The case is still pending to this day.

Mr Mwonzora has a penchant for controversy as he currently has numerous outstanding cases with the Law Society of Zimbabwe and the courts. Then you have a party purporting to be a credible opposition sending such a character as the leader of a delegation to solicit for funding.

That money will certainly be channelled to a bottomless pit, what with the embattled Mr Tsvangirai and Mr Mwonzora so broke. It is everyone’s good guess as to what the money will be used for. The usually gullible West has grown impatient with these financial vampires in the MDC-T.

The MDC-T as a foreign-controlled project failed to meet its objectives which is primarily summed up by the unwitting desire of imperialists to replace the revolutionary Zanu-PF with a puppet regime led by their then favourite stooge, Mr Morgan Richard Tsvangirai, who still remains as clueless as he was in 1999 at that party’s formation.
Even the idiotic will observe that the MDC-T has outlived its relevance to its erstwhile founders and funders, the British and their American poodles, who bow in shame as they regret their instincts which led them to form this anti-people organisation, the MDC-T.

They will forever regret ever opposing the popular and revolutionary Land Reform Programme which has enhanced the lives of millions of Zimbabweans. The signs are clear, Mr Mwonzora will return empty-handed. The signs of a repentant West warming up to Zimbabwe are already there.
They have no option for the country has the geopolitical influence in the region. The days of the MDC-T being a relevant political entity are now past their prime.
