Midlands teacher to attend Jordan sports course

Generations For Peace chief executive officer, Mark Clarc, confirmed Takavarasha’s selection in an invitation letter.
“It is my pleasure to announce that you have been selected to take part in the Generations For Peace Samsung Advanced Training which will be held from 21-25th of this month in Amman, Jordan,” said Clarc.

The organisation will cater for all the costs.
Zimbabwe Olympic Committee chief executive officer Anna Mguni, has since written to the Midlands provincial education directorate requesting the release of the Guinea Fowl High School teacher who is expected to leave next week.

“A request is hereby made for the release of Mercia Takavarasha to attend the Generations For Peace Samsung Advanced Sports Programme to be held in Amman, Jordan, for 21 to 25 March.

“She was one of the first local recruits and she is currently successfully implementing projects in Gweru and Kwekwe under the Generations For Peace banner.
“This training will further enhance her activities and ensure continuity of peace-through-sport projects at the highest level in Zimbabwe,” reads the confirmation letter.
Generations For Peace is an organisation that uses sport as a medium for promoting peace.
In Zimbabwe the organisation works in collaboration with the Zimbabwe Olympic Committee (ZOC).
