IN a heartening display of community spirit and corporate social responsibility, Milton Park Nursery School recently extended its benevolent reach to Ruoko RwaMwari Children’s Trust (God’s Hand Children’s Trust), delivering a vital donation of groceries, warm winter-wear, and crucially, fully paid school fees for all the children under the Trust’s care.
Nestled amidst the challenging conditions of Mount Hampden’s slum, the Trust stands as a beacon of hope, providing refuge and a chance at a brighter future for over 52 vulnerable children. The initiative aligns perfectly with Milton Park Nursery School’s profound mission statement: “It Takes A Big Heart to Shape Little Minds.”
Their recent journey to Mount Hampden vividly showcased this ethos in action. Marcel Miller, an administrator at the nursery school, shared the deep empathy that fuelled their commitment. “Living without parents or financially capable guardians is quite dispiriting and sad for the young ones. We understand what it means and the challenges posed by starting with nothing or so little in life,” Miller stated.
“Today we are therefore assisting orphans, among other underprivileged children at Ruoko RwaMwari Children’s Trust through food donations and school fee payments for every child here.”
Tichaona Marembo, the public relations executive for Milton Park Nursery School, reiterated the institution’s ongoing dedication to societal welfare.
“This is part of our corporate social responsibility, and as a brand that cares to identify underprivileged children, particularly orphans in society from across Zimbabwe to extend love and assistance through school fees payments and groceries,” Marembo explained, emphasising a long-term vision for community engagement.
The arrival of the much-needed supplies and the promise of education were met with immense gratitude at the Trust.
Gogo Margaret Kamwaza, one of the key facilitators at Ruoko RwaMwari Children’s Trust, could not hide her joy, offering heartfelt blessings.
“We are so grateful to this well-wisher, and may the Heavens continue likewise to remember Milton Park Nursery School for spreading love and remembering us at the time of need,” she expressed.
While celebrating this significant act of kindness, Pastor Wilbert Shikova, who serves as both a spiritual guide and facilitator at the Trust, issued a humble appeal for further support.
He urged other well-wishers and organisations to emulate the inspiring example set by Milton Park Nursery School, underscoring the persistent challenges faced by the children.
“We humbly appeal and welcome other well-wishers to come forth with whatever assistance to cushion these orphans with love as well, and rescue them from the wrath of unsanitary conditions they are living in,” Pastor Shikova pleaded, highlighting the urgent need for continued aid to improve the daily lives and futures of these deserving children.
