LOCAL top gospel singer Everton Mlalazi is set to host the inaugural Ekhaya Worship Festival scheduled for May 25 in his hometown of Bulawayo.

This festival is not just another event for Mlalazi; it represents a deep personal commitment to his community and a vision of hope for the future of gospel music in Zimbabwe.

“Charity begins at home, and that’s why this festival is so important to me,” Mlalazi shared in a recent interview.

“It’s about uplifting my community and creating a space where we can worship together and celebrate our roots.”

Known for his ability to create impactful events, Mlalazi is dedicated to fostering a sense of unity and purpose through music.

The Ekhaya Worship Festival promises to be a spiritually enriching experience, featuring a diverse lineup of gospel ministers.

The event features pastor Barak, Sbu Noah, Vusa Mangena, VOP Music, Conquerors Afrika, Mai Mwamuka, Lorraine Maplanka, Takesure Zamar, Robery Guy, Wayburn Dean and Dunamis Men among others who will share the stage with Mlalazi.

“We have an incredible group of artists joining us, each bringing their unique sound and style to the stage,” Mlalazi said.

“This lineup showcases the richness of our culture and the beauty of our faith.”

With such names, the festival aims to blend generations and worship styles, ensuring there’s something for everyone.

Mlalazi’s vision extends beyond music; he is committed to creating a holistic experience for attendees.

“Worship is not just about singing; it’s about the entire experience,” he said.

“That’s why we’re including a Free Health Expo at the festival.”

This initiative will offer free medical check-ups, consultations, and health education, reflecting Mlalazi’s belief that spiritual and physical well-being go hand in hand.

“We want everyone to leave feeling not only uplifted in spirit but also cared for in body,” he said.

The festival represents more than just a gathering; it’s a movement. “Ekhaya means home, and this festival is about returning to our roots, reconnecting with God, and celebrating our community,” Mlalazi explained.

“When we come together in faith, we create a powerful force for change and healing.”

His excitement for the event is palpable, and he encourages everyone to be part of this unique celebration.

With thousands expected to attend, Mlalazi is also focused on fostering local economic activity.

“We’re engaging local vendors and small businesses to be part of this festival,” he said.

“It’s vital that we uplift our community not just spiritually but also economically.” This commitment to community empowerment is a core principle of Mlalazi’s ministry, resonating deeply with his audience.

As the promotional campaign for the festival gains momentum, Mlalazi is grateful for the overwhelming support he has received. “The response has been incredible,” he cited.

When reflecting on his hopes for the festival, Mlalazi’s eyes lit up. “I want people to leave feeling renewed and inspired, ready to take on the world with a new perspective,” he said.

“This is our opportunity to shake the heavens and uplift the earth.” His passion and enthusiasm are infectious, and it’s clear that the Ekhaya Worship Festival will be a landmark event in Zimbabwe’s gospel calendar.
