Monalisa Sibanda shines bright at the 2025 Junior National Championships in Harare

BULAWAYO based swimmer Monalisa Sibanda left her mark at the 2025 National Junior Championship swimming tournament, which was held in Harare last week.

The contest was held from Friday to Sunday.

Sibanda secured multiple medals.

Her impressive performances in the pool not only earned her podium finishes but also showcased her exceptional versatility as a swimmer.

She brought home a total of 11 medals, including four gold, six silver and two bronze medals solidifying her as the overall winner in the Under11 category.

Sibanda’s stellar performance at this tournament is just a glimpse into her immense potential. With medals in a range of events from individual sprints to challenging medleys and relays Sibanda’s versatility sets her apart as a future star in the sport.

The swimming star is a grade six learner at Whitestone Primary School in Bulawayo. She is also a member of the School of Swimming Club.
