A CHINHOYI woman allegedly killed her two children by poisoning them with highly toxic tablets yesterday before attempting to kill herself.
The children, aged eight and six, were killed by their mother in Cherima high density suburb in the Mashonaland West provincial capital.
Provincial police spokesperson, Inspector Margaret Thatcher Chitove could not give a comment on the incident.
Fellow tenants broke down the family house’s door after the woman and her children did not appear in public since morning.
They discovered the lifeless bodies of the two children before rushing the mother to Chinhoyi Provincial Hospital where she is said to be critical.
The husband had on Monday left for Harare where he works.
