Mpopoma High School teacher pleads guilty to indecent assault

Court Reporter
A MPOPOMA High School teacher who allegedly fondled a 17-year- old pupil’s breasts appeared in court. Mkhokheli Ndlovu, 26, appeared before Western Commonage magistrate Tancy Dube facing charges of indecent assault. Prosecuting Keneth Shava said Ndlovu, who teaches computers at the school, fondled the pupil while they were in a computer lab.“Ndlovu fondled a pupil in his computer lab after she had gone to check if they were still having their computer lessons,” said Shava.
The court heard that on July 3 at Mpopoma High School at around 4PM, the girl went into Ndlovu’s classroom to check if they were having computer lessons on that particular day.
Ndlovu then told the girl that there were no lessons and asked her to help him cover the computers.

After they were done, the girl started walking towards the door intending to go out of the classroom. At that point, Ndlovu ran after her, dragged her back, before closing the door. He then grabbed her from behind and fondled her breasts. The girl threatened to tell all the teachers at the school but Ndlovu continued to fondle her and only stopped after she screamed for help. He then let her go.

The girl told her friend and they reported the matter to the police leading to Ndlovu’s arrest.
Ndlovu pleaded guilty to the charge and told the court that it was the work of the devil.

“I did not intend to do it. It was the works of the devil, your worship. I don’t know what happened to me because I just saw myself fondling her,” he said.
