THE Midlands State University (MSU) has pulled out of the Rugby Southern Region League citing lack of funds to transport the team to Bulawayo to fulfill fixtures at the Hartsfield Rugby Grounds.
The Rugby Southern Region League consisted of four Bulawayo based teams and two out of town clubs, The Ancient City Club from Masvingo and the Gweru-based MSU.
Old Miltonians, Matabeleland Warriors, Western Panthers and the Police Bulldogs make up the Bulawayo-based quartet.
Kwekwe Sports Club takes over the MSU slot.
The institutiona��s public relations manager Mirirai Mawere asked B-Metro Sport to send inquiries via e-mail but she had not furnished this publication with a response by the time of going to print.
Matabeleland Rugby Football Board (MRFB) chairman Theo Weale confirmed that the university was no longer part of the league.
Meanwhile, the rugby league weekend fixtures have been postponed to make way for the schools provincial trials that will be held at Hartsfield Rugby Ground on Saturday.
A total of six schools together with two select sides from schools based in the western suburbs of Bulawayo will take part in the provincial trials.
Each school is expected to bring their Under 14, 17 and 19 teams. Participating schools are Falcon College, Christian Brothers College, Plumtree, Milton, Petra, GiffordA� and two schools from the western suburbs. .
