Murambinda Primary to represent Manicaland

Morris Mtisi
FLAMBOYANT and glittering primary schools in Manicaland bowed down to deep-set rural Murambinda B in the 2015 Mutare Museum Heritage Quiz finals held at the Courtauld Theatre recently.

Led by Takudzwa Mubani (11),

Tarcicious Zinyama (12) and Delvin Noah, favourites, Mount Melleray succumbed to a nail-biting sudden death debacle.

Traditional hot favourites, Mutare’s Baring Primary School

and Chipinge Primary breathed heavy on Murambinda’s neck, but were only able to give too little too late.

Conspicuous by their absence in the provincial final quiz were high- riding Chancellor and Mutare juniour schools.

Other contenders in the finals were Chimanimani Primary and newcomers, Chitombo Primary in Honde Valley and St Jude’s in Rusape, both who put up a brave fight, but succumbed to the best.

All seven primary schools

that took part in the quiz are academically honourable and encouraged

to lead many more in future competitions.

It is the participation that

matters more than the winning or

losing, for in taking part there is

winning for everyone and loss for

none.

Murambinda B was number three in 2013 and 2014, number one in 2012 and 2015.
