Murape excited by Green Fuel charge

GREEN Fuel forward, Leeroy Murape, says he is excited by their current fine run.

He thinks top-flight promotion is now within their reach after they grabbed a 3-0 victory over Masvingo-based FC Wangu Mazodze, at the weekend, in the ZIFA Eastern Region Division One League.

Green Fuel are 11 points clear of second-placed Mutare City Rovers, and haven’t lost a game so far this season. “We have been putting up spirited performances game after game.

“It now looks like we are doing everything right and with a bit of consistency, we are getting there.

“I’m excited about the whole idea of gaining promotion to the top-flight.

“Hope it all comes to fruition and becomes a reality,” he said. Murape said he was focusing on winning all remaining games.

“I will be delighted to be part of the crop of players that helped the club to win promotion into the Premier Soccer League.

“So, the focus is on winning all our remaining matches.

“We are not giving ourselves pressure as the coach is asking us to just play to our capabilities and stick to our game plan.

“Every game comes with a new challenge but, luckily, the team is coming up with working solutions,” he said.

He revealed that coach Lloyd Mutasa had instilled a strong work ethic in the team and unity of purpose. This, he said, has been the team’s greatest strength.

“We are taking every opponent seriously without looking at who they are because at this juncture you wouldn’t want anyone to spoil your day.

“Our fans have been instrumental from day one in our campaign.

“We want to give them top-flight football so that they enjoy the game,” he added.
