A NYANGA man who is being implicated in two murder cases has rubbished claims that his victims’ avenging spirits are now wreaking havoc in his family more than a decade after the crimes were committed.

The avenging spirits of Sydney Manditsera and John Gotora who were allegedly murdered for rituals in 2011 and 2018 respectively are seeking justice and demanding that one of their alleged killers, Milton Sadomba, be brought to book.

The matter was recently heard before acting Chief Saunyama.

Kefias Mungwari, Milton Sadomba, Austin Madara and one Kido are alleged to have killed Manditsera in 2011.

The avenging spirit which is manifesting on Munashe Hatidani claims that sometime in 2011, Sadomba and his crew intoxicated Manditsera before killing him and harvesting his body parts.

“If you think I am lying, what happened to Kido? I killed him after he dared me? Ask Mungwari, where is he today? Is it not true that he is attending to his ill son hospitalised in Harare? Who do you think caused that illness? Dare me and I will kill Mungwari’s son today. Dare me Sadomba at your own peril,” threatened Manditsera’s spirit.

However, Sadomba, Mungwari and Madara denied killing Manditsera.

Sadomba stated that he was still a school going teenager when the murder was committed.

He also said he was not even a Nyanga resident at the time.

Sadomba also rubbished the spirit’s claims that it is wreaking havoc within his family by causing mysterious deaths.

“It is normal that people die. This is not because of any avenging spirit. After birth, we await death. How can I be fingered in the murder of Manditsera, someone I never met? I was doing Form Three in 2011 and I was not even staying in Nyanga. How can I be implicated in this matter? What these possessed people are saying is all news to me,” he said.
He further stated that he was ready to consult various traditional healers over the issue to clear his name.

“I am now being labelled a murderer by the community due to the endless accusations by these so-called avenging spirits. I need to clear my name because I am sick and tired of this. Children now run away when they see me. This is disturbing my peace. I am now living like an outcast, yet my hands are clean,” Sadomba fumed.

Meanwhile, the second murder victim, Gotora’s spirit which was manifesting on Sekai Nyamudika during the court session also alleged that Sadomba played a part in his murder.

It claimed that Sadomba carried Gotora’s remains and threw them away at St Mary’s Cemetery.

“Sadomba do not be economic with the truth. You are the one who shoved my mutilated body into a sack as if I was a goat. You carried my remains from the beer hall where I was killed to St Mary’s Cemetery. What did you think was in the sack when you were carrying it? You knew that it was my remains because you were paid to dispose my body. I will descend on you,” threatened Gotora’s spirit.

However, Sadomba remained steadfast and insisted that his hands are clean.

“These avenging spirits are failing to finger the right person. I am not the Milton Sadomba they want because I am a peace-loving person,” claimed Sadomba.

In the Gotora murder case, Sadomba was fingered together with a teacher-cum-businessman, Phillip Makunura and his wife, Catherine Makunura; their bar tender, Kerina Katsatse; the deceased’s young brother, Morris Matimba; the deceased’s colleagues only identified as Benza and Nyamundanda; Trymore Chibaya; Lucky Nyanguru and Aaron Nyakapeta.

All of them are denying the crime.

Gotora’s private parts, eyes, teeth, right hand, tongue, brain and some flesh from his skull were harvested for rituals by his killers.

Acting Chief Saunyama has since roped in Zimbabwe National Healers Association (Zinatha) president, Mr George Kandiero, for assistance. Mr Kandiero has promised to send the country’s best traditional healers to Saunyama area on March 12 to establish whether Sadomba was involved in the murder cases.
