BANKET United coach, Stewart “Shutto” Murisa, believes they have now connected the loose ends to claim their first set of full points, since his arrival.
They host Trojan Stars at the weekend.
Murisa’s troops are in the relegation zone and the ZIFA Northern Region Division One perennial campaigners know they have to up their game if they are to live and fight another day.
It will be his fourth assignment as the club’s coach, since his appointment to replace Paul “Popopo” Chimalizeni.
“The boys have been showing great energy during the week, I’m confident of a positive result and we are targeting maximum points,” said Murisa.
“We have been just unfortunate but I believe we have a good squad, which is capable of finishing the season in a respectable position.
“We have done enough to rectify our mistakes, the boys are showing the right attitude towards the weekend’s game.”
Trojan recorded their first win, in the second round last week, after edging Karoi at home.
Karoi United will be seeking to respond from their weekend’s loss, when they welcome Come Again at Chikangwe.
Pacesetters, Herentals Under-20, are scheduled to meet Ngezi Under-19 at Baobab on Sunday. Ngezi are coming from a 0-1 loss, which they suffered at the hands of Simba Bhora, last weekend.
Simba Bhora’s Raphel Manuvire could battle against his former paymasters, Chegutu Pirates, at Wadzanai. However, the veteran midfielder is still yet to feature for his side since his return, during the mid-season break.
The last time Dzinza travelled to Wadzanai, they were eliminated in the Axis Solutions Super8 Cup, following a 0-4 defeat to Simba Bhora. Gilbert Mushangazhike’s Golden Eagles will entertain Black Mambas at Ellis Robins, this weekend. The Eagles have drifted five points off the pace in the championship race.
