Nyasha Mushekwi has scored nine goals for Swedish top flight side Djurgardens IF

NYASHA MUSHEKWI’S superb form in the Swedish top flight continued yesterday night when his brace propelled Djurgardens IF to the top of the Allsvenskan league table.

Djurgardens, who now have 19 points, beat second from bottom side Halmstad 3-2 with Mushekwi scoring twice in the second half to take his tally to nine goals in as many matches.

The 27-year-old Zimbabwe international strike is the leading scorer in the Swedish top flight.

Mushekwi, on loan from South African Absa Premiership side Mamelodi Sundowns, scored his first goal in the 75th minute to put his side 2-1 up.

Halmstad equalized in the 90th minute but Mushekwi had the last laugh, scoring the winner right at the death, to maintain his status as the man of the moment in the Swedish top flight league.

The bustling striker has now scored three braces in the past four matches and his potency has seen Djurgardens IF overtake highly fancied Malmo FF and IFK Goteborg in the Swedish Allsvenskan race.
