THE camp representing Highlanders midfielder Mason Mushore has confirmed the player will leave the club at the end of the 2025 season.

It closes a chapter in which the gifted midfielder became one of the bright sparks in the black and white jersey, scoring key goals and growing into a reliable presence in Bosso’s engine room.

Mushore is represented by Focus Sports Management, who released a detailed appreciation note that underlined how his rise was shaped in Bulawayo.

“We express our sincere gratitude to each and every one of you for the support and opportunities our player Mason Mushore received during his time at Highlanders Football Club.”

“We are grateful for the experience and lessons he learned, which have contributed significantly to his growth as a player. We want to thank the management for believing in him and providing him with the platform to showcase his skills. To the Highlanders technical team, thank you for your guidance, patience, and expertise that helped him to improve his game,” said Focus Sports Management.

They also paid tribute to the Bosso faithful, whose pull often shapes a player’s emotional connection to the club.

“Your energy and enthusiasm made every match day a memorable experience, and he will cherish the memories you created together. We appreciate the relationships he has built and the bonds he formed, and we will always look back on his time at Highlanders Football Club with fond memories,” the agency added.

Mushore, a Warriors fringe player, was close to a mid-season move to the Czech Republic where he had been lined up for trials with an unnamed club. It would have been a big step toward Europe after standout performances in the midfield mix alongside Melikhaya Ncube, Prince Ndlovu, Never Rauzhi and others.

Highlanders also released his brother, McKinnon Mushore, at the end of July. He joined Simba Bhora on loan until the end of the 2025 season.

Sources say vice captain Andrew “Tower” Mbeba could be the next to leave. Bosso already watched several pillars walk out last season, including Peter Mudhuwa, Marvelous Chigumira and Lynoth Chikuhwa, who signed for Scottland FC. Chikuhwa’s spell there was short lived and he later moved to Chicken Inn, who are believed to be pushing for a permanent deal. —@FungaiMuderere
