THE stage is set for this year’s edition of the Chibuku Neshamwari Traditional Dance Festival national finals with superstar Jah Prayzah, Killer T and Tocky Vibes billed to perform at the after party in Masvingo.
Ten groups, from across the country, have made it through to the finals in which the organisers Delta Bevarages have pegged the grand prize at US$15 000.
The runners-up will walk away with US$10 000 and the group, which finishes in third place, will get US$7 500.
“Masvingo I am coming back again. This time with Chibuku for the Chibuku Neshamwari National Finals. Kuchanakidza,” said Jah Prayzah in a post.
Killer T, who is making waves with his hit song ‘Kana Ndanyura,’ has set his eyes on a memorable night with fans.
Delta Corporation marketing director, Irimayi Muzorewa, said it’s all systems go for the annual celebrations.
“We are all set for the grand finale in Masvingo as we promote local talent and celebrate the diverse cultural dances in Zimbabwe.
“As always, we are proud to associate Brand Chibuku with our customers and pledge to make the finals worthwhile.
“May the best group win,” said Muzorewa.
Some of the dances to look forward to at the festival include Chinyambera, Dinhe, Mbakumba, Mhande, Mutshongoyo, Nyau, Nsubule and Setapa.
Mufakose-based group, Cultture Warriors will carry hopes for Harare.
Other groups who have made it to this year’s national finals include Nyaungwe Dance Group (Mashonaland East), Bolamba (Matebeleland South), Pezhuba Pachena (Matebeleland North), Dzimbahwe Nengoma (Mashonaland Central), Mkango Malawi Nyau (Midlands), Dapurahunanzva (Manicaland) and Budiriro Cultural Arts (Mashonaland West).
