Mutambudzi laid to rest

Wednesday at Chitungwiza Central Hospital after succumbing to prostate cancer.
Speaker after speaker described him as a dedicated and hardworking farmer.
The Secretary in the Ministry, Mr George Charamba, who spoke on behalf of Minister Webster Shamu, urged men who are 50 and above to get tested for prostate cancer which he said was claiming many lives.
He said men in this age group were prone to the disease which he said could now be cured.
“Mutambudzi (Anywhere) called me telling me that his father was refusing to take his prescribed tablets and I knew he had given up on life because my father died in the same manner.
“During the difficult time Mutambudzi (Major) was busy organising the independence gala and I told him to attend to his family duties while I took over as his deputy in organising the gala,” he said.
Mr Charamba urged mourners not to shun their rural areas urging them to build houses and improve other infrastructure.
Mr Charamba said Minister Shamu had asked him to thank the Mutambudzi family for producing an illustrious son — Major Mutambudzi — whom he said has contributed immensely to the nation’s cause.
He urged mourners to safeguard the land by voting wisely.
