Mutoko man to spend 12-months in jail for culpable homicide

A 27-year-old Mutoko man has been sentenced to serve 12 months in prison for causing a road traffic accident that killed one person.

Mutoko magistrate Mr Elijah Sibanda found Pardon Kudzai Nyabote of Chigumira Village in Mutoko guilty of culpable homicide after his Ford Ranger vehicle overtook three vehicles before hitting a Toyota Ipsum car.

The driver of the Toyota Ipsum, Prosper Kativhu, was ferried to Mutoko Hospital where he was pronounced dead upon admission.

Kativhu’s post-mortem concluded that the death was due to traumatic brain injuries sustained from the accident.
