CAPS United trio that left the country for trials at Mansi’s Magesi missed the opportunity to play against countryman Thandolwenkosi Ngwenya of Amazulu due to logistics challenges.
Juan Mutudza, Sean Mzinde, and Wesley Milanzi arrived an hour later than the expected time in Polokwane, where they were expected to feature against Ngwenya’s side.
The trio will be under the custody of Magesi until next Friday, as agreed upon by the two clubs.
Ngwenya was on target in a match that was played behind closed doors in Polokwane.
The 22-year-old also had the chance for a kodak moment with his former teammate Mutudza.
The duo were together for nearly three seasons at FC Platinum and played a significant role when the Zvishavane miners secured their fourth consecutive championship.
The trio will know their fate anytime after next Friday, which means they will not be available for Makepekepe’s Saturday fixture against Triangle. The agent who has been at the heart of their trip told this publication that there was a miscommunication about the time the trio was expected to be in Polokwane.
‘‘It’s unfortunate that they did not make it to play their first friendly against Amazulu because of a slight communication problem,’’ said the agent.
‘‘The good thing is the club has many friendly matches lined up, which are enough for the boys to showcase what they can bring to the table.
“They are all excited about the challenge at hand, and we are pretty confident that something good will come out of this deal.’’
Magesi is also home to Warriors duo Elvis Chipezeze and Edmore Chirambadare, who have been with the club since their time in the Motsepe Foundation Championship.
They were also part of the group that secured Magesi Betway Premiership slot.
They are also expected to help this trio have a soft landing at the club.
Meanwhile, Chicken Inn confirmed that goalie, Donovan Bernard will has joined Motsepe Foundation Championship side Kruger FC.
Bernard became the first goalkeeper in the domestic Premiership to register 20 clean sheets last season.
His impressive milestone caught the eye of Kruger FC, who have been chasing his signature since the start of the season.
