Mwenezi man commits suicide over wife’s infidelity

A 45-year-old man from Mwenezi in Masvingo committed suicide by taking poison when he found his wife in bed with another man.
In an inquest conducted at Mwenezi Magistrates Court last week, Masvingo magistrate Ms Dorothy Mwanyisa said the post-mortem showed that the suicide was a result of taking poison.
The incident took place on 5 June at about 10am in Chirumbwa area under Chief Neshuro when Freddy Shoko dashed into his house and found his wife,Ms Kastina Mapfuwo being intimate with Mr Lawrence Khosa.

Shoko then wrote a suicide note before taking a pesticide and he died in his bedroom.
Mwenezi police attended the scene and recovered the suicide note whose contents were not revealed because the next of kin were yet to be informed at the time.
Mr Khosa promised to compensate Shoko’s family but is yet to do so.
