A 25-YEAR-OLD man was brutally stabbed to death near a local bar in Nkenyane, Bubi, in a chilling attack that has rocked the quiet farming community.
Bongani Khanye was found lying in a pool of blood on Saturday night (25 May) just outside the bar after being stabbed in the chest by unknown assailants.
“At around 10PM, a male adult received a call that Bongani had been stabbed and was lying on the road,” said Bulawayo police spokesperson Inspector Nomalanga Msebele. “He had sustained a deep wound to the centre of the chest.”
The motive for the attack remains unclear, but some locals suspect an alcohol-fueled altercation.
Police are appealing for information that could lead to arrests and warned the public to resolve disputes peacefully, especially when drinking.
“Do not take the law into your own hands,” said Inspector Msebele. “Let us avoid unnecessary loss of life.”
