Musician Mzoe7 is continuing to build his brand by immersing himself in major cultural events, following his recent appearance at the 2026 Cape Town Carnival in South Africa.

Held on March 21 under the theme Follow Your Heart, the vibrant showcase took place in Green Point, Cape Town, attracting global audiences and performers from diverse cultural backgrounds.

Mzoe7 described the experience as both inspiring and educational, highlighting the value of exposure for creatives.

“I learnt a lot from the carnival, how all communities come together to make it successful. From the designers who bring out distinctive and captivating designs, mascots and parade props. The dancers vary from Chinese paraders to Indians, Portuguese, Zulu, Xhosa and Coloured, showing different cultures and creativity.

“The choreography really blew my mind away because it’s not easy to dance and move for a long distance, sustaining high energy and charisma. It’s important to attend different events as a creative, as there is much to learn from every event, from timing, lighting, choreography, costumes, teamwork, and time management,” said Mzoe7.

Fresh from the international experience, the artiste has now turned his focus to the three-day Imiklomelo kaDakamela Cultural Festival, which kicks off on April 3.

“People should come and enjoy themselves, learn about our cultures and other cultures, celebrate our African food, music and dressing. We are grateful to everyone who has supported Imiklomelo kaDakamela since its establishment.

“This year’s edition is bigger and better. It consists of awards, Bush Dinner, entertainment, edutainment, amongst other great activities,” said Mzoe7.

The festival is expected to bring together culture enthusiasts, creatives and communities in a celebration of heritage and unity.

Before heading to Nkayi, Mzoe7 will first join a star-studded lineup of local artistes, including La Dee, Black Diva, Abigail Mabuza, and Songbird, for an Easter performance in Gwabalanda, Bulawayo, on Friday. – Follow on X: @mthabisi_mthire
