Naph teams head for Bindura

ALL the 10 provincial teams in the country are expected to arrive in Bindura this afternoon in time for the vetting exercise ahead of the 2015 Nestle National Association of Primary Schools Heads (Naph) healthy kids Physical Education, track and field athletics competitions tomorrow and Thursday.

Speaking from the competition venue at Trojan Mine Stadium yesterday, Naph national spokesperson Elton Sinyosi, said they expected all the provinces to have checked in at 2PM before vetting an hour later.

“The technical meeting will also be held at the same time as vetting so that on Wednesday we’ve a clean start to the competition,” said Sinyosi.

The Permanent secretary in the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education is expected to be the guest of honour during the closing ceremony on Thursday.

Nestle Zimbabwe, who have so far pumped in $500,000 since their marriage with Naph began three years ago, said the package has been increased to $600,000 this year. Nestle Zimbabwe corporate affairs and communications manager Farai Munetsi announced the increased sponsorship during Bulawayo Naph provincial competitions at White Stadium.

Naph Bulawayo chairperson Njabulo Bango said his province would leave at 4AM this morning. He said their preparations went on smoothly and were expecting to give a good account of themselves.

They came second in last year’s competitions.

Winners of the Physical Education will pocket $5,000, the same as track and field competition winners.
