THE Bulawayo National Association of Secondary School Heads Under-20 netball championships will take place at Ihlathi High School this morning.Tongesayi Chakanetsa, the hosts’ spokesperson, said they are ready to play host to the tournament.
He said they had worked hard to ensure that the event would be a success.
The tournament is expected to attract 12 schools that will be grouped in four pools.
The top two on the table will progress to the quarter-finals of the tournament.
Defending champions are Sikhulile High School who have had an unbeaten run since last year.
Emakhandeni, Montrose, hosts Ihlathi, Pumula, Induna, Mpopoma, Townsend, Mzilikazi, Amhlophe, Msitheli and Mncumbatha are the secondary schools taking part.
Ihlathi will be out to redeem lost pride after finishing last in their qualifying group but made it to the finals as the hosting school.
“The girls have been training hard and are promising fireworks in tomorrow’s games,” said Chakanetsa.
According to Chakanetsa, all teams qualified on merit and are expected to showcase good performances.
