AFTER his goal earned HardROck their first win of the 2026 Castle Lager Premiership season at Nyamhunga on Saturday, Washington Navaya has now targeted to score his first at Chahwanda mid-week.

The 2025 top goal scorer will now be in good space when they face Chicken Inn in what is expected to be an explosive tie for the ambitious newcomers on Wednesday.

“It is my wish to score at home, that’s my dream, we will see on matchday,” said Navaya.

On the ZPC Kariba game, he said: “My partnership with Manzungu is good because we managed to score with his assist. This goal is very much important to me as I have opened my 2026 PSL season account, I’m aiming for double figures, everyone was expecting this to happen.”

In Chicken Inn, they face a side with vast experience. The Gamecocks have won the title before and they are also under a coach, Tonderai Ndiraya, who has won the last two league titles.

And one of the senior players at Chicken Inn, Michael Charamba, will be back to familiar territory. He last played football in Kwekwe at school (Amaveni High School).

“It’s always a good feeling playing at home,” said Charamba.

At Chicken Inn, Charamba has been re-united with Ndiraya, who coached him at Ngezi Platinum.

Ndiraya’s charges are coming from a 2-0 win over Triangle which moved them to four points, the same with HardRock on the log.

HardRock coach Kelvin Kaindu knows this will not be a stroll in the park. But he has reflected on the ZPC win as he plans for the next challenge.

“We give glory to God. It was a tough game, they didn’t play as expected but the most important thing is the maximum points,” said Kaindu.
