The last three thematic committees covering three Government Priority Areas for the National Development Strategy 2 (NDS2) are finalising consultations with stakeholders.

Co-chairs include permanent secretaries Mr Nick Mangwana (Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services), Engineer Joy Makumbe (Transport and Infrastructure Development), Eng Gloria Magombo (Energy and Power Development) and Engineer Theodius Chinyanga (National Housing and Social Amenities).

The Foreign Affairs and International Trade permanent secretary, Ambassador Albert Ranganai Chimbindi, who also co-chairs the committees, is out of the country.

Deputy Chief Secretary to the President and Cabinet, Mr Willard Manungo, laid out the priority areas for the committees.

“President Mnangagwa is saying we need to consult as widely as possible to include the voices at every level,” said Mr Manungo.

“This consultative process is bringing together stakeholders from industry, government, civic society organisations and those coming from the grassroots.”
