Neighbours at odds over children’s love affair

A CITY woman dragged her neighbour to court, seeking a peace order, citing verbal abuse.

Judith Kasiya said she has had enough of her neighbour Allies Jacha’s abuse.

She said their relationship turned sour after her son dated the neighbour’s under-age girl.

The matter came to light at the Harare Civil Court.

Judith told the court there was bad blood between the two as a result of their children’s actions.

She claimed that her son, who is in his early 20s,  was in love with Allies’ daughter, which sparked the fight.

“I don’t know what to do anymore since Allies is disturbing my peace.

“She is in the habit of coming to my house to insult, harass and threaten to beat me up because my son is in love with her minor daughter.

“She is blaming me for my son’s actions. I had no other remedy than to ask the court to restrain her because she has already refused to settle the issue at family level,” said Judith.

In response, Allies denied the allegations.

“I don’t even know why she is accusing me that I insulted her,” said Allies.

Presiding magistrate Sharon Mashavire granted the peace order in Judith’s favour.
